In March 2003 Electric Entertainment announced that Dean Devlin will produce a MechWarrior  movie based on the MechWarrior  video games.

The project was in development at Paramount, but, according to Dean Devlin, Electric Entertainment "hit a major glitch in the road" there, so they had to take the project elsewhere.

"We're in the process of setting the film up now and, unfortunately, will have to start again from the beginning.

That's Hollywood", Devlin said.
