Soul Of The Age  will be a historic drama directed by Roland Emmerich about the authorship of the work of William Shakespeare.

The film is about the idea of Shakespeare not having written his plays, but instead just having given his name for them in order to get some money.

The project is currently in pre-production. Shooting was scheduled to start in September 2005 on the Isle of Man, but Emmerich wasn't able to get the cast that he wanted (due to timing problems), and thus, the project has been postponed.
