The Day After Tomorrow  is Roland Emmerich's 10th movie as a director. The film's idea is inspired by the book The Coming Global Superstorm by Art Bell and Whitley Strieber.

Plot outline of the film:

A climatologist tries to figure out a way to save the world from abrupt global warming. He must get to his young son in New York, which is being taken over by a new ice age.

The film was distributed by 20th Century Fox and released May 28th, 2004 worldwide.
